Member’s & Visiting Golfer’s Helicopters:
With a Helicopter Flight time of about 25 minute from the Trump-Turnberry Golf Resort this is the ultimate way to experience two of Scotland’s world renowned courses.
The Machrihanish Golf Club, may on occasion grant permission for Golf Club Members and Visiting Golfers to land their helicopters on a designated “Temporary Helicopter Landing Site” which is located between the Pans Course 1st Green and the Practice area. The Club is allowed to use this temporary facility for a maximum number of 28 days per year. As this is a temporary site, no permanent “H” is displayed, but to help you identify and check it’s safety as landing site for your helicopter the GPS location is [ N55° 25.432′ W005° 43.464′ ] (Cut & Paste into Search in Google Earth to view.)
Please Note: On days when the Club is expecting multiple or larger helicopters the landing site may be extended to include the adjacent practice area.
Prior Notice is Required, and in the first instance you should contact the Club’s Professional Shop, who will forward your request for permission and communicate the outcome to you.
In no circumstances other than in the event of a declared air emergency should you land or allow your helicopter to be landed on any other part of the Golf Courses as this may interfere with play. In particular helicopters are not allowed to land in the vicinity of the Pro-Shop.
We would also ask you to show respect to our neighbours by not approaching the landing site over their fields which could disturb grazing livestock. NB: The neighbouring farms will have been informed about your arrival.
