A warm welcome awaits you at the Mull of Kintyre. Craigard House Hotel occupies an imposing position overlooking Campbeltown Loch (already two famous songs and this is only the first paragraph!).
An 1882 Victorian mansion in the Italianate style, originally built by a Whisky Distiller and with an interesting and varied history, fine architecture and original features, it was converted 20 years ago into a very cosy and bijou hotel, with a welcoming ambience and prime, but tranquil, position on Campbeltown Loch, only ten minutes from the first tee. Golf packages, early breakfasts, late dinners, packed lunches etc can all be arranged. Craigard offers a friendly and informal stay, in thirteen comfortable and well-appointed rooms, all named after places of interest in the locality. Most of the rooms have stunning views over Campbeltown Loch, with our South-facing location offering panoramic vistas of the sunrise and sunset. There is a choice of double, family/twin, triple or single rooms, and one huge four poster junior suite.
Each bedroom is well-appointed, with bath and shower, and free Wifi. There is extensive private car parking, and an attractive patio area with seating in the grounds overlooking the busy sea loch.
The Award-winning Lochside Restaurant, overlooking Campbeltown Loch, will delight you with its imaginatively prepared local shellfish and seafood, such as Langoustines, Scallops, Halibut and Monkfish; locally farmed Lamb, Beef and Pork, Cheese game and delightful home-made desserts. Chef bakes his own bread daily. Vegetarian and individual diets are catered for with pleasure and there is a great choice for breakfast, including locally Smoked Salmon, Kippers and Smoked Haddock. There are always new ‘specials’ at dinner, depending on the catch of the day. The extensive fine wine list, Arran & Loch Fyne real ales, and a large selection of Single Malt whiskies, including some unusual Springbank, Longrow, Hazelburn and Glen Scotia expressions, will help to round off the meal.
We also offer a ‘one stop shop’ to help with local transport, transfers or car hire; golf tee times and any other local arrangements such as a Springbank or Glen Scotia Distillery visit. We want to ensure that your visit is stress-free, so please just ask.
Our aim is to ensure that Craigard is the Hotel in which we would like to stay if we were away from home.
We look forward to welcoming you…
Roger and Lori
